How to find Irish egg donors in the database

Every donor profile records her maternal and paternal heritage, and donors describe it in their own words, so the same background can show up under more than one label. To see every Irish donor, open More filters in the egg donor database, type ir in the Heritage box, and check Irish and Ireland. The short search brings up both spellings. Many donors list more than one heritage, so a donor who is part Irish and part Italian or German will appear in each of those searches.

What Irish egg donors are in the database?

At the time of writing in October 2026, more than 60 donors in the Fresh Matching Program and 18 in the Frozen Egg Bank list Irish heritage on at least one side of the family. Most also list other European backgrounds, with German, English and Scottish the most common pairings, followed by Italian, French and Dutch. Among the fresh donors, blue is the most common eye color, hair is split fairly evenly between brown and blonde, and a few have natural red hair, so once Irish and Ireland are checked you can narrow further with the Eye Color and Natural Hair Color filters.

How does matching with an Irish donor work?

You can match one-to-one with an Irish donor through the Fresh Matching Program, where she travels to your IVF clinic and you receive every viable egg from her retrieval, or choose a cohort of frozen eggs from the Frozen Egg Bank and have it shipped to your clinic. With donors of Irish heritage listed in both programs at the time of writing, you can run the same Heritage search in each one and compare, and our donor egg programs overview sets out the timelines, what each program includes and the donation types side by side.

Where are our Irish egg donors located?

Fresh donors of Irish heritage are spread across the United States, with the largest group in California and others in Florida, Texas, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Kentucky and more than a dozen other states, and a few live in Canada and Germany. Each profile shows where the donor lives, and her location doesn't limit your options, because fresh donors travel to your clinic with travel arranged by our team and included in the program fee, and frozen eggs ship to clinics throughout the United States.

Frequently Asked Questions

Register for free at Donor Nexus and open the egg donor database. Click More filters, type ir in the Heritage box, check Irish and Ireland, then click Search. Each profile lists the donor's maternal and paternal heritage, and the filter works across both the Fresh Matching Program and the Frozen Egg Bank. If you would rather not search yourself, a case manager can review your criteria and send matching profiles.

Donors describe their heritage in their own words, so some profiles say Irish and others say Ireland. Checking both options in the Heritage filter makes sure your search includes every Irish donor, and a donor with more than one heritage will show up under each one she lists.

Yes. After you run your search with Irish and Ireland checked, click Save this search at the top right of the database, and the search is named and saved for you automatically. We email you when a new donor who matches your search is added, so you can review her profile right away. Saved searches work in both the egg donor database and the embryo bank.

Yes to both. Donors in the Fresh Matching Program travel to your fertility clinic for the cycle and retrieval, and our team arranges the travel and logistics, which are included in the program fee. Through the Frozen Egg Bank, frozen donor eggs ship directly to IVF clinics throughout the United States. Because international shipping and donor travel are now limited by regulations in many countries, most of our international intended parents choose to complete treatment at a U.S. clinic, and our team can help coordinate that process.

Yes. After you check Irish and Ireland in the Heritage filter, add Red or Blonde under Natural Hair Color, or Blue under Eye Color. At the time of writing, blue is the most common eye color among fresh donors of Irish heritage, while natural red hair is less common, so a red hair search may return only a handful of profiles at a time. A saved search will email you when a new donor who matches joins.

Most do. Irish heritage often appears with German, English or Scottish heritage on the same profile, and sometimes with Italian, French or Dutch. Each profile lists maternal and paternal heritage separately, so you can see which side of the family each background comes from, and a donor with several heritages will show up in the search for each one.
