Refer a Friend

You changed a family’s life. Now you can help someone you know do the same.

Our referral program

For every donor you refer who completes a retrieval, you receive $1,000.

There’s no limit on how many people you can refer, and you don’t need to have donated yourself to participate. If you know someone who’d be a great fit, send her our application link and make sure she mentions your name.

How it works

1. Tell her about it

Share your experience and point her to our application. You know what this process is really like, and that honest perspective is what helps her decide if it’s right for her.

2. She mentions your name

When she fills out the application, she’ll be asked how she heard about Donor Nexus. She selects “Friend or Referral” and types in your name, which is what connects her application to you.

3. You get paid after her retrieval

Once she completes her egg retrieval, you receive $1,000. Refer as many people as you’d like.

Why we do this

What you do as a donor changes entire families. The parents we work with have nothing without donors like you.

Here’s something we’ve learned over 14 years: the donors who come to us through a referral have the best experience by far.

They already have a sense of what the process involves because someone they know has walked them through it. They know what the injections are like, what to expect from monitoring, and how retrieval day actually goes. And they have someone in their corner who’s been through it, someone to text when they’re nervous or when they have a question they don’t want to ask their case manager yet.

That kind of support makes a real difference, and it’s something we can’t replicate on our own.

Referred donors also tend to get matched faster. When our team is presenting a donor to intended parents and her profile shows she was referred by a previous donor, we tell them that. We’ll say, “This is a first-time donor, but she was referred by one of our other donors. In our experience, these donors are the most likely to follow through and complete a cycle, and she has a support system behind her to help her navigate the process.” That context matters to parents, and it gives your friend an advantage from the start.

Who to refer

When we say “refer a friend,” we mean anyone. A coworker, a neighbor, someone from your gym, someone who sat in your chair at the salon. We’ve had donors who are hairdressers refer ten or more women, just by sharing their experience with clients who were curious. The person you refer doesn’t have to be someone you’re close with. She just has to be someone who’s interested in hearing about what you did and why.

This isn't a side program

Most of our donors find us this way. Women who’ve been through a cycle and had a great experience tell the people around them, and those people become some of our best donors.

Want to share your experience another way?

Our Donor Experience Program is for donors who want to create videos or other content about their donation experience that we can share with intended parents who are still deciding. If you loved your experience and want to talk about it (but don’t have a specific person to refer right now), reach out to our team to learn more about the program.
